Jimmy Carter says Racism is “peeeeeeeeeeeeenutty!!”

The signs with Obama eating watermelon weren’t enough.

The signs with Obama as an African Witchdoctor with a bone through his nose weren’t enough.

The fake birth certificates floating around the internet weren’t enough.

The claims of healthcare being a form of reparations weren’t enough.

Now that President Jimmy Carter has weighed in on the current state of Affairs and deemed Racism a culprit in the backlash against President Obama its official…….Racism Might Be Involved!!!!

Do you mean I have to sit through a whole week of white folks arguing about whether or not Racism is involved at these rallies against Obama just because a peanut farmer from the south says it is? You betcha!!!

When Jimmy Carter speaks it must be true. Thanks to our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ that we have a white man co-signed on what black folks have been saying since March.

Citizen Ojo’s prayer to the Heavens: Ooooo lawdie!! I jus wanna think ya fo letten dis her man stind up fo r rights!!!!

President Carter I really appreciate you co-signing but you might want to sit this one out. The Right doesn’t like you that much anyway. Maybe it was the 4 years you spent in the White House or the fact that you build homes for poor people (what happened to pulling yourself up by your bootstraps – they can’t build their own homes!!!). You and President Clinton are the only old white dudes that can go to any black family reunion/cook-out and fit in. So that makes you almost black in the eyes of the Right.

So you speaking out is the equivalent of Tim Wise giving a lecture on the White Man’s Burden. It’s not your fault Mr. President, that’s just how the game is played. It’s nice of you to stand up for what you believe in but it won’t change anything. You will be called a traitor to your race, and they will have signs with you eating watermelon. This is not going to stop until more people start speaking out. America doesn’t need a former President to stand up, they need a Nation.

Well, that's interesting your take.

At this point, I think we need all we can as far as being "truthfully radical." I'm a bit tired of all of this being politically correct. I'm quite clear that there is a way one can still tell the truth, the WHOLE truth, the REAL truth not be mean and nasty about it. Yes, it is going to offend and ruffle feathers, but at least they can't say that you were being mean about it.

Jeremiah Wright got in trouble more for how he said what he said. No one challenged the veracity of what he said (except for maybe his AIDS statement). I'm all for Carter using his private citizen status to his benefit now. I think it would be a wrap if Clinton joined that same chorus. They can pass of Carter as an old codger, but Clinton is still quite relevant.

It seems like no matter what happens, there will always be an issue of racism to some degree.

what i wanna know is, why did the white house come back and disagree?

i wish obama would stop tryna please....this administration, however, is taking us into completely uncharted territory--folks don't even know how to act. This newness is shaping the world in a whole new way...the unapologetic racist is a dying breed, for real.

Invisible Woman - Obama ran a campaign on the fact that he doesn't see color. Well now he has to ride that out. If a white person burns a cross on the white house lawn, Obama has to shrug it off as an "unsatisfied voter". Much to 94% of black folks displeasure. This is the way it is. I'm personally glad to see the racism open and up front. It lets me know I'm still breathing..
