OH REALLY!?!?!

"Given the historic change our country has experienced, this is the perfect time for BET Networks to re-examine where we are as a company and what we can be for our audience," said Debra L. Lee, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, BET Networks (or as they call it at BET, the CNIC). "As the #1 African American media company in the world, we have a unique opportunity to make the world of our audience better and provide them with quality entertainment that speaks to where they are in their lives and where they want to go. BET's reinvigorated approach is built on supporting families, embracing and encouraging their dreams, focusing on the issues that are important to them and presenting the freshest talent and entertainment."

BET might be making a few opportunities for change. However, they are giving us shows like Tiny and Toya and Neffe and Frankie. And the BET Awards were a slap to Michael Jackson. This is an insult! BET no longer has their full news division or public affairs shows. That's wrong. Where do African-Americans hear issues that pertain to them? This is where BET should be, instead we get shows showing us the glamourous lives of a baby momma (it is what it is) and an ex rapper's wife.

diva2damax - you are so correct. The last thing of substance on BET was Teen Summitt. They use to have a show featuring Bev Smith with black reporters (the name escapes me) but I use to watch that on the regular.

Lincoln Perry - Thank you very much. It was right there but I couldn't think of it. That was a good show.
