Former Black Politicians - Where are they now?? The handshake & chicken dinner edition.

Then –
In 2008, Birmingham Mayor Larry Langford was arrested on a 101-count federal indictment on charges of conspiracy, bribery, fraud, money laundering, and filing false tax returns. U.S. District Attorney Alice Martin claims Langford used the bribery money to buy audio equipment and luxury clothing items. These alleged acts took place when Langford was a Jefferson County commissioner. Langford said a day after his indictment “It's not business as usual. It's business more intensified than usual, now that I know what I'm dealing with, I can now turn all of my attention to carrying out my duties as mayor."

Now –
In 2009, Langford was found guilty of taking cash and accepting gifts. He was automatically removed from office and is currently awaiting sentencing. He could possibly face 805 years in prison.

Ojo:

Do you notice that in:

* Birmingham - mayor
* Newark - mayor
* Baltimore County - county commissioner
* Atlanta - mayor
* Chicago - US Rep
* Baltimore - potentially the mayor
* New Orleans - US Rep & City Council President
* Memphis - Several city councilmen

go down in flames due to corruption - the ESTABLISHMENT MACHINE never seems to be purged by the Black community of voters?

- Did these figures keep the streets safe?

- Did they make world class schools?

- Did they make a thriving local economy?

Are you and others REALLY seeking to advance the Permanent Interests of the Black Community or is it for your Party/Ideology that you are working for?

What evidence do you have to prove that this is the case?

Constructive Feedback aka “Ronnie” -

For a “so called” educated man you seem to have such a minor grasp on satire. I am actually making funny of Mayor Larry Langford in this post. Any reasonable person or 6th grader would be able to comprehend this upon reading. Notice in the title of the post “The Handshake and Chicken Dinner Edition.” This has been a running saying on the black blogosphere when dealing with crooked black politicians. I guess you wouldn’t know that because of your inner circle of one. Once again you have done a terrible job of trying to label me as a Democrat especially since there is nothing in this post that alludes to that. I have called you a liar before but it appears that you like to embrace falsehoods with reckless abandonment so I guess I should stop using that term to describe you because you relish in it.

FYI - My city of Charlotte N.C. has just elected a black mayor. Please stay informed with Charlotte politics so you can see if you need to add our mayor to your list of shame for black mayors that you keep beside your nightstand.
