The City welcomes Carolyn Flowers, the new CEO of the Charlotte Area Transit System. You took a pay cut when you came here from Los Angeles. And you are making less money than the man you replaced. Welcome to North Carolina and enjoy your stay.
hopefully she will make a difference so that they will recognize her worth. The pay cut may not be as monumental as the cost in living in Los Angeles is hella higher than NC.
Freckles - I hear you. But a pay cut is a pay cut. She will be able to live with what she is making. But why is she getting paid less than the guy she replaced? She came from a bigger system in Cali. What's that about?
The economy is in a different place and to be completely honest and from CA - I am sure there are a number of furlough days as most state and county offices have had to do so. Hell CA is not even open on Fridays. So she may have already taken quite a pay cut already in CA. As for the cut to the man she was replacing, why did he leave? I am not the kind of person that can make conclude without all the facts. She took the job and the paycut. This may have been a good opportunity for her. CA system is a big systen yes with alot of problems that she may not have had the opportunity to be apart of the resolution. The fact are not all there so who am I to make a stink about her great opportunity that she accepted.
Freckles - Good Observations!! I forgot you were from Cali. Okay, maybe she is cool with her pay. I'm not trying to rock the boat for her. Just thought it was odd. But I like how you shed some light on the subject.
Lincoln Perry - I take it that the ATL (particularly in the city) trends toward Democrats. I can't say we have as many democrats as ATL might have. We have alot of Independents that could go either way. We just elected the 2nd black mayor ever who is a democrat. The school board saw 8 seats or so go to Democrats. Most of the Republicans live or moved to the outskirts.
Interesting, I hear Atlanta is about to elect a White Female mayor, my partners tell me they are losing ground...they say it will be like San Franciso in ten years!
If Black folks are smart, we would take control of five key southern states, Missippi, Louisania, Alabama, GA, SC, and NC is the wildcard!
Welcome Less Paid Sister Girl! She will have fun spending that new money out in Southpark, Ballantyne and Concord Mills. Perhaps a quick trip on a bus to Beatties Ford for fried chicken @ Mr. C's?
Citizen Ojo can show you around the campus of JCSU on his golf cart and then transition you back to uptown on the Gold Rush...lunch on him @ Chicken King for a new light rail down LaSalle! Or perhaps a billboard he will sponsor if you save the lives of a few kids on the bus...
I hope she has time to get out of her luxury automobile to feel the pain of the transit system for those that have to suffer it!
I do not think that this white woman is going to win. She has some strong components but there are number of loopholes. Not too mention she has lacked a few key endorsements. I hope that this works out. GA tends to be more a repulican state while the city tends to grow more democratic but you know yall cousins and nem hesitate in their participation in the electoral process. I have voted and look forward to see the outcome.
I would also agree Lincoln Perry that black folks should embrace the southern stated but again they need to participate in the process and be more aware of the opportunity to be able to turn about change.
P.rofessional H.ater D.egree - Do you think a woman of her stature would like riding on Gold Rush..ha ha ha.
Lincoln Perry - San Francisco? I might have to use that one.. ha ha ha.
Freckles - I can see we aren't even close to Atlanta Politically. Ray Ray and em won't vote all over America. That is a universal problem. When you get an answer to that problem let me know. It's a universal mess...

I HATE pay cuts but not for you!
