Give me a break!

Lawd have mercy. It's time to stop the foolishness and get real. This is a woman who has no knowledge of the issues and only memorizes talking points. I work in PR and can clearly tell when someone is throwing taking points. It's a difference when they are used in the context of a conversation, but when all you are doing is regurgitating them like Pathetic Palin, it is clear that you have no clue what you are talking about.

Check out this video. When she begins talking, you can clearly tell that she has memorized a series of sentences. Listen to how fast she is talking! And now you need McCain to sit next to you to make sure that you don't screw up and telling her to hold on before she answers the question so he can say something? This is a hot ass mess and they both make me sick.

I am so ready for Thursday. Joe Biden is going to shut her down (in a respectful way)! He must be very careful. Joe likes to say the first thing that comes to his mind. That's a great quality about him, but he can't do that in this debate.

It’s a shame that black folks won’t support black films that aren’t directed by Tyler Perry.

Spike Lee's World War II drama "Miracle at St. Anna" debuted poorly for Disney, with just $3.5 million in ninth place.The story of an all-black U.S. Army troop in wartime Tuscany, "Miracle" attracted audiences comprised 86% of couples Saturday night, with 80% of patrons over age 25. The film played best in New York and Los Angeles -- which together contributed more than 21% of its weekend coin -- but "Miracle" will be looking to future frames to salvage any sort of decent theatrical run following its wobbly start.

It’s a shame that black folks won’t support black films that aren’t directed by Tyler Perry. The Citizens (me and the wife) made sure that we supported the film because we know how hard it is to get black films made. The lack of success for Miracle at St. Anna, means the next war film involving black folks might not get made. I have nothing against Tyler Perry, but it seems that if he isn’t making a movie then we won’t watch it. The Great Debaters was an excellent film, but it did not do well either. What will it take for us to support these films? Did Spike Lee need to put Katt Williams in it? And we wonder why Hollywood gives money to make movies like Soul Plane.

My advice to Spike Lee: Clint Eastwood is not the problem. It’s us!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The passing of Paul Newman

Paul Newman died Friday at his home near Westport, Conn., after a lengthy battle with cancer, he was 83. Newman also was an actor, philanthropist, talented director of theatrical and television movies including The Silver Chalice (1954), The Hustler (1962), Cool Hand Luke (1967), Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds (1972), The Verdict (1982), The Color of Money (1987), The Glass Menagerie (1987), The Road to Perdition (2002), Empire Falls (2005) and Cars (2006).

I enjoyed watching his acting skills - especially in Cool Hand Luke. I think he was a top notch actor and a credit to his profession.

Who jump-started Obama last night? That man was on fire!!! He came out swinging like a kid fighting for his life. I know people are saying it was a tie, but if you look at his previous debates – it’s a huge improvement!! McCain looked so pissed off that I know he wanted to say the “N” Word. Foreign Policy is McCain’s specialty and he couldn’t take Obama out. Both candidates show that they have a mastery of Foreign Policy so kudos to them. I wonder does Sarah Palin know anything about the Middle East? She might not if she can’t see it from the border of Alaska. I do think that he shouldn’t agree with McCain by saying "john is right". That is just a personal preference though. What I love and hate about Obama is his gentleman like nature. It definitely has its place but when you are dealing with the Republicans you can’t always be nice. The Republicans play the dirtiest games and you have to know how to fight them. But……maybe that was part of his strategy because he wants to show bi-partisanship.

Help!!! Mommy, Daddy, Send Gas..... Asap!!!

Finding gas in Charlotte NC is like digging for gold after the gold rush ended. For individuals that are finding gas, they are finding long lines ahead of them. There were reports of trouble at the pumps, as drivers witnessed fights break out at local stations. Drivers across the American Southeast are dealing with the frustration of gas hunting due to a pipeline not producing at 100% capacity. Colonial Pipeline which delivers gasoline and other fuel from Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama to major cities in the Southeast including Charlotte is the pipeline in question. North Carolina Governor Michael Easley has told Carolinians to conserve gasoline by carpooling and eliminating unnecessary trips. According to AAA, gas was averaging $3.98 a gallon in Charlotte as of Monday. Asheville NC still has some of the highest gas prices in the Carolinas, averaging $4.13 a gallon. With all that being said, I keep asking myself the same question. How did America elect an oil man President and we keep running out of oil?

700 Billion Reasons to skip a debate

There is something going on that is as crooked as the letter “s” in Mississippi. Not since Mr. Whitefolks made his introduction in Pimp’s Up Ho’s Down has a white man ran this much game. Senator John McCain wants to call off Friday’s debate in order to work on America’s economic woes. This is all silly because neither senator sits on committees that have any direct dealings with the bail out. Senator McCain is a member of the Armed Services, Indian Affairs and Commerce, and Science and Transportation committees. Science and Transportation? Does that deal with teleportation machines?

McCain might have the American public fooled but I’m not buying this one. This is the old banana in the tailpipe trick. McCain needs to get his behind down to ole miss and start answering questions. There isn’t a politician in the District of Columbia that knows what to do with the economy. Bush and McCain were both C Average students in school, so they definitely have no clue. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson is the one that is running the show. If he says jump then all of congress will say how high. The years of reckless financial dealing and no oversight has caused suffering for American citizens. This capitalistic greed happened on the watch of many of these congressional members. It is inconceivable that not one person saw this coming. So after 26 years of serving in congress, John McCain is going to ride in with the Calvary and save America? McCain needs to stop playing games and get with the program. America needs real solutions and not gimmicks. When will politicians stop jerking us around and do their jobs????

A last-minute reprieve for Troy Anthony Davis

Seven of the nine witnesses who initially testified that Davis was the killer have recanted. Also there was no physical evidence presented at his trial, and no weapon was found at the scene of the crime.

Earlier Today, Davis refused his last meal of macaroni and cheese, pinto beans, green beans, lettuce, tomato salad, corn bread, fruit cobbler and tea.

Obama visits Charlotte N.C.

Senator Barack Obama was having a rally in uptown today. Since he paid a visit to our city, Citizen Wifey and I decided to go check him out. It was part Political Rally/Rock Concert - with people crying, dancing and passing out. After the minister (Mayor Richard Boyce of Belmont NC) gave a soul stirring prayer, I was looking for a collection plate. I think we possibly had church right there in the street. What I witness today was not just a political rally but a political movement. People of all ages and ethnicities were side by side waiting to hear the good word. Obama did his thing and fired up the troops for battle. If the crowd was in indication, North Carolina could be in play this year.

What are Islamic Extremists and the RNC doing in my Mailbox?

This was a tough week for everyone’s favorite public citizen (yours truly). Citizen Wifey was flipping out because of a letter I received this week. It wasn’t from an old flame, or a strip club $2 Tuesday coupon. The letter was from the Republican National Committee in Washington D.C. Actually the letter sounded like John McCain wrote it. The letter went like this:

Dear Friend,

I don’t want to believe you’ve abandoned the Republican Party, but I have to ask… Have you given up?

Our records show we have not yet received your Republican National Committee membership renewal for the critical 2008 presidential election year.

As the Treasurer of the RNC, I know our Party’s success depends directly on grassroots leader like you.

So I am surprised and concerned especially because I know how generously you supported President Bush and the RNC in the past. You helped to advance our vision for America and elect Republicans at all levels of government.

I know other things come up, and perhaps you’ve just been delayed in renewing your membership. If that’s the case, I understand.

But we’ve not heard from you this year – and I hope you haven’t deserted our Party.

You generous financial assistance and active involvement are more important than ever as we work to elect a Republican president and Congress.

There is so much at stake. The Democrats are determined to put a liberal like Barack Obama in the White House, expand their narrow majorities in the U.S. House and Senate, and push our country to the left with their agenda of high taxes, big government and weakened national security.

Big Labor, radical liberal protest groups and Hollywood elites are planning to spend more than $500 Million to defeat Republicans and aid the Democrat power grab.

The RNC relies on the voluntary support of Republican activists like you.

That’s why I urgently need you to renew your RNC membership for 2008 with a contribution of $1000, $500, $250, $100, $50, or even $25.

The men and women who will represent us in this year’s elections are hard at work building strong campaigns.

What do the Republicans have against Movie Stars (The Hollywood Elite)? You would think that they don’t watch movies. The last movie Republicans probably watched was Birth of a Nation. Citizen Wifey was so disturbed by this that I thought she was going to spray the mailbox down with Lysol. I’ve never met a woman that had such a dislike for the Republicans. I thought that the letter was part of the Republicans political caging list. An example of political caging involves sending letters to predominantly black neighborhoods, and when the letters are returned as undeliverable, the senders compile a challenge list to remove those voters from the voting rolls. Maybe they truly just want money? Someone has to pay for Cindy McCain’s outfits.

I also received a DVD in the mail from The Clarion Fund. If you are reading this, you are now asking yourself the same thing I did: What is a Clarion Fund?

They are a non partisan organization that educates American Citizens about issues of national security. Their main focus is on America’s favorite boogey man Radical Islam. The name of the DVD: OBSESSION Radical Islam’s War against the West. The DVD is from a film that originally aired on CNN.

Michael Medved from Eye on Entertainment said about the film:

“Obsession is one of the most powerful, expertly crafted and undeniably important films I’ve seen this year…. And merits serious consideration for the Academy Award for Best Feature Length Documentary.”

Well thanks Mr. Medved for giving the film Five Gats out of Five. A documentary about terrorists should receive an Academy Award? Osama Bin Laden must be up for best actor. He puts out more tapes than Ron Jeremy. Why during an election would they send out such a film? They say they are non partisan but their agenda seems suspect to me. So between The Grand Ole Party and Muslim Radicals my mailbox was full of foolishness.

Why would I give money to a political party where only 36 of the 2,380 delegates seated at their convention floor were black, the lowest number in 40 years? You want my money but I have to sneak in the back to give it to you. Thanks, but no thanks.

I also don’t need a video to scare me into submission. I’m not going to trade my civil rights in for my freedom. American’s did that already and all we have to show for it is wiretapping. If I want to see a video on terrorists, I will go rent one. I don’t need it crammed down my throat.

I never thought I would see the day when Bills in the mailbox looked so attractive.

What is it about Oil that makes people so horny?

I thought that we (American Citizens) were the only people that the Oil Companies were screwing. Now I am highly offended to know that I’m in a “3 Way” with the Government. This is outrageous!!! What do you do when you are in a relationship with someone and they are seeing someone else? I would like for Exxon, Shell, BP, and Texaco to know that I believe in a monogamous relationship.

Down and Out in Macomb County

The Republicans should go into the magic business, because they are forever pulling a trick out of their butt. Since the hanging chads in Florida, they have been trying to manipulate the voting process. If intimidation doesn’t work, they always have Clarence “Uncle” Thomas and the rest of the hanging judges in their back pockets. This latest con is so brilliant that I even have to tip my hat to it. They are going to keep people that lost their homes to foreclosure from voting. The Macomb County Republican Party is doing this, because they want to keep the voting process honest and fair. Anytime a Republican uses the word fair, I think of a slave running from dogs with his arm tied behind his back.

I know a conservative person might be reading this and think that I’m unfair. They will probably say that I am biased and I’m in the tank for Obama. Well after looking at the Republican convention, I saw that they were sending minorities a message. No minorities allowed!!!! So am I biased… probably, but no more than the Republican National Party. So am I in the tank for Obama….I support him. I don’t agree with all of his views, but he is my candidate of choice. I hope no one thought that this blog was like Fox News (Fair and Balanced) ha ha ha ha. The reason I have this blog is so I can give my opinion on topics of the day. It might come off at times that I am hard on conservatives. That’s only because I don’t want to revert back to Jim Crow laws. With this voter suppression in Michigan that’s exactly where we are headed.

The part that the Republican Party is leaving out is that most of the foreclosures would be African American homeowners. So we are talking about African Americans that typically vote for a Democrat losing their right to vote. Mmmmmmmmm! Is this just a coincidence that many sub-prime loans, which are more likely to be sold to minorities, are going to go into default and keep African Americans from voting? If it is a coincidence then O.J. Simpson is back dating Sistas again.

For all those individuals that thought this election was going to be different, you must be out of your damn mind!!! This race was set up to be the nastiest thing since a Flavor Flav sex tape. Now defenseless homeowners are going to be used as pawns in this vicious election. I hope there is a legal way to fight this foolishness because I don’t want anyone who is eligible to vote get screwed.
