My Thought For The Day: You never see Terrorists on Greyhound or Trailways.

I think I’ve figured out something about Al-Qaeda that our National Security Specialists haven’t. Have you ever noticed that Terrorists never ride American buses? They fly on planes and they ride on trains but never a bus. Right now you are probably saying “Citizen, what do you mean?” It’s simple really. Terrorists are afraid of the passengers that ride buses. I know I know – this is the part where you tell me “I’m not right.” But it’s true!!! Have you been to a bus station lately? Matter of fact just stand outside of the joint and you will see. Because it’s cheap to ride - everybody rides!!! And I mean everybody!! You don’t ever see people eating homemade fried chicken on American Airlines do you? Have you ever seen people dressed like vagabonds sitting in First Class? I don’t mean to sound disparaging but I got to call it like I see it. Who knew that the choice transportation for college students was also a Terrorism repellent? If you don’t believe me, go to your local bus station and check it out for yourself.

LOL you are so funny but right. When I was about 11 I rode the bus to visit my aunt in another state by myself. I sat next to a man who I know could have easily been on some top ten wanted list. Greyhound is certainly one mode of transpo that needs some kind of homeland security.

Toya - What's up with that? Why are folks always putting kids on buses? They did that to me too. After my bus experience (and I was older) I went straight to Amtrak and haven't been back since. I just can't do it sista.

LOLOL! Do you ever notice in movies when folks want to slip by the police, bad guys, hit men, or anyone else they take a bus?

Yes. I think you really have something here. You should contact the FBI.

HA!

Some of my best experiences as a little kid were taking the bus to see the grandparents. It was great! But the last time I took a bus was about 10 years ago and it had def changed.

Btw, Amtrak is not much better if you travel coach. Especially since they serve alcohol. When I take the train I get a sleeper and I never have to mix with the riff raff.

PPR_Scribe - The FBI? Really? Wow.. Special Agent Citizen Ojo. Mama would be proud.

Val - Ballers take Sleepers!!! I want to ride on your plan. I like the train going North but not coming back from up North. We need to use the train more for traveling like the Europeans do.

I made the mistake of going to a Greyhound Bus station in Atlanta once. It was right across the street from a stripclub. This homeless guy attempted to valet park my car and this little old lady was selling chickens in front of the place. I'm not sure if she'd break their necks and pluck them for you if you bought one or not. Needless to say, I won't be going there again.

Reggie - Wow! I don't even know how to respond to "all" of that. Strip Club and Chickens....that's all I can think of.

I used to fly to my grandparent's home for holidays and summer breaks.
I'd get to sit right behind the pilot and get a set of tin (later plastic) wings and a big cookie if I kept quite.
The attendents would always sit next to me and make sure I had all I would need.

I didn't take a bus until about a decade ago.
I wanted to see what the country looked like between SoCal and Louisiana.
We had to de-board so customs/immigration could inspect our bus.
Not the most pleasant ride but it was 'aight.

But the bus stations were fairly run down with shady characters in every hall, street corner or restroom.

LMAO- You are so true. What can a terrorist do with almost 40 people that are angry that they are making a 2 day trip that could have made in 8 hours.

The Smoking Ace - Exactly!! The numbers tell the story. I need to work for National Security Right?
