I agree with what you said except that I think that women for the most part have always been accepting of men who make an 'honest' wage.

I don't think it's a new thing that a professional women will be accepting of a blue collar man. In fact I think women in the past were even more accepting. I have heard of tons of women who were teachers and the like who married plumbers, carpenters, janitors, etc.

I think this was especially so in the mid part of last century.

Val - I only said it was new because most women I knew growing up (if they were college educated) were married to college educated men. I only know of a few women now that have college degrees that are married to people without. It's a small group.

Anonymous - Well it's a tale that keeps getting life.
