A game-changer for children of color?

Listen and learn from people who have already been where you want to go. Benefit from their mistakes instead of repeating them. Read good books…..because they open up new worlds of understanding.

~ Dr. Benjamin Carson

Could this website be a game-changer for black children across the globe? NorthParan.com is adding a philanthropic touch to the business of selling black books. For every book purchased on the site, North Paran will donate a book to a child in need. The site’s slogan is Buy One, Give One.

It would help more if their parents read more.

uglyblackjohn - I know.. I know... But I guess we gotta get the books in their hands and take it from there.

Ever since my children have been old enough to read, I've been taking them to book stores to buy books. I shared my joy of reading with them. I didn't care what kind of books they picked up when they were little, I just wanted them to read.

I love to read, it's the hobby I've most embraced over the years. As a matter of fact, I've been constantly reading a book for the better part of 15 years now.

I still get my college kids Barnes and Noble giftcards for Christmas.

Reading is fundamental.

Nice post.

Reggie - When I was growing up we spent many weekends at the Public Library. Reading is a lost art.
