Why is it that a single mother can prepare a budget better than a politician?  It seems like all they do on Capitol Hill is argue about money.  You have politicians that don’t pay taxes and others that spend money like drunken sailors on shore leave.  They even vote on wars that America can’t afford.  And now they are fighting over raising the debt ceiling!!  The concept of raising the debt ceiling has been around for years.  But some of the folks in our legislative branch act like they don’t know what it’s all about.  Hold on….wait a minute…my bad….they don’t know!!  With 87 new members in the House of Representatives and 12 new Senators it makes perfectly good sense.  These new Republicans came in under the wave of discontent for our current political process.  Tea Party Members were well organized when they executed their game plan in the 2010 Midterm Election.  And President Obama’s fan club all but vanished in 2010.  In my voting precinct in particular, if you were a Democrat or had an ethnic name (i.e. black) it was a wrap.  You weren’t going to get a first term in office or “back” into office.  It was just one of those years…..


Flash-forward to now and, if you look in the distance, you can see the chickens coming home to roost. To sum it up:  we got what we paid for!!  The fighting that is going on regarding the debt ceiling is one that was caused by us!  Yep, you got it!!  The Tea Party was able to get their folks into office by holding their feet to the fire.  Not by being seduced by “Chicken Dinners” and the occasional church visits.  Obama didn’t capitalize on his 2008 election and lost a lot of folks in the process.  People wanted “Hope” not “Beer and Peanuts” on the White House lawn.  Obama missed an important opportunity to educate his followers that were new to politics.  When they saw the name calling, fighting and overall ill will.  They just tuned out.  All he has left are loyalists.  And to be honest, some are just following him because he is black…ooops..did I say that?


Our current divided government is a representation of our country. We are a nation that is divided by class, color and sexual orientation.  What might be good in San Francisco is horrible in Tuscaloosa.  If it is a sure thing in New York, it might be suspect in South Carolina.  We are a divided country that only comes together for sporting events and alien invasions.  So don’t be shocked by the deranged behavior going on by our politicians.  Either you voted them in or you didn’t vote at all.

Ex Vice President Dick Cheney’s (or as my brother-in-law calls him……Darth Vader) daughter has taken up the mantle of pissing in President Obama’s Kool-Aid. Liz Cheney and her advocacy group Keep America Safe (how original is that)are going after Department of Justice lawyers who previously did pro bono work for Guantanamo detainees. Cheney is using a web ad that calls the Department of Justice the “Department of Jihad.” I knew the Republicans were trying to destroy Obama’s credibility among white folks but I didn’t know they had the same plans for Attorney General Eric Holder. I guess the saying is true about hitting two birds with one stone.

Uncharacteristically, Right Wing Lawyers have come out against Cheney in a worded statement that criticized Cheney’s web ad. You know you have messed up when Kenneth Starr is scolding you. The last time we saw him he was trying to prosecute a man for getting Fellatio on the job. So you know he is serious about prosecuting people.

I just don’t understand why people are changing the rules in the middle of the game. Cheney’s illegal alien ancestors (ha ha...okay so it's only funny to me..) created all these laws and now when they don’t work for her she flips the script. Don’t be mad at the Department of Justice. Be mad at your forefathers for writing the constitution.

Not since the Washington Wizards selected Kwame Brown as the 1st overall pick in the 2001 NBA Draft have I been this confused. John McCain actually wants us to believe that after meeting Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, “twice” ,she is qualified to be Vice President? This is the person that will take over the Presidency if an emergency arises. After meeting her “twice” he trusts this former beauty queen to control the button with the Nuclear Weapons? Who is this Gov. Sarah Palin anyway? If the only thing I hear about you is how “Hot” you are, then there is a problem.

Let’s take a look at some Sarah Palin highlights:

*Elected as Governor of Alaska in December 2006 (she has been Gov. less than 2 years).

*Chairwoman of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission from 2003 – 2004 (she resigned from this position after less than a full year of service).

*Served as a two term Mayor of Wasilla Alaska (estimated population in 2003 was 6,715).

*Served two terms on the Wasilla City Council (In January 2005 the city opened a Home Depot and Lowes).

*Worked as a sports reporter for a local Anchorage television station (she covered such events as the Iditarod dog-sled race).

*A former point guard and captain on her high school basketball team (maybe she should challenge Obama to a game of 21).

Not since Jimmy Stewart starred in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington have we seen the most unlikely of politicians. Senator McCain wants to showcase Palin as a reformer that will clean up Washington. She is going to use her city council experience to turn around the economy; her experience as Governor to fight the war on terror and her experience as Chairwoman of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission to deal with our dependency on foreign oil. I hope people didn’t think McCain selected her strictly for her good looks. She is going to take Washington by storm!!! Yeah right, and I’m running for Governor of North Carolina. Palin is simply on the ticket because she is a woman. McCain heard Obama’s acceptance speech and almost passed out. When he woke up, he realized tornado Obama hit Denver hard. He was going to need something powerful to take out a natural disaster. Like Doug Flutie in one of the greatest college football games ever, he threw a hail mary. He decided to go after delusional ….oops.. dissatisfied Clinton supporters and independents. Only time will tell if this blatant gamble will win him votes. In the meanwhile, it’s going to be hilarious watching the Republicans turn Gov. Palin into Margaret Thatcher. Stay-tuned!!!!
