God, if you can hear me, please start hitting people with lightning bolts or turn them into salt. Thank You, Citizen Ojo.

America’s new scapegoat seems to be Muslims. But don’t get too happy Illegal Aliens; they aren’t finished with you yet!!! They are just taking a break right now. First we find out that Muslims want to build a Mosque on top of the site where the Twin Towers fell. Then we find out the Community Center is actually two blocks down the street. So now people are confused between a Mosque and a Community Center. You have to pay attention to the way things are worded on tel-lie-vision. Listening to the reports I thought Bin Laden was building a ranch house next to Mount Vernon.

I could see someone saying this right now ~ That scoundrel!! Who gave Osama Bin Laden the building permit and the supplies to make this happen!!! If he puts one nail in a piece of wood, we are going to protest!!!

I wonder if the ancestors of the slaves that George Washington slept with have houses near Mount Vernon but I digress.......

It appears that The Dove World Outreach Center, a non-denominational church in Gainesville, has decided to mark September 11th with a special ceremony. The church will be having an "
International Burn A Quran Day.” That’s not to be confused with the “International Burn a Bible Day” that is held in Hell. The pastor of this church, Terry Jones , is the author of a book entitled “Islam is of the Devil.” I believe he stole that from a movie title and added the word Islam. I checked the website (they always have websites) and he is really trying to get mileage out of this book. He is selling t-shirts and coffee mugs with the slogan “Islam is of the Devil.” He should see about getting a deal with Starbucks. The website also has a link to the church website. On the church website under the title protest, there was a woman holding a sign that read “God Hates Luke Warm Churches.” I personally can’t stand cold churches. I hate when folks are stingy with the heat. A luke warm church in winter time would be alright by me. Now if it was summer time I probably would be pissed. Oh?!!? Do you think she was talking about something else?

America needs to be honest and admit that we are Islamophobic. How can we not be? We have a buddy buddy relationship with Israel and we are trying to make peace with someone they hate. Have you ever had two friends that hate each other in the same room? I’ve seen cousins fight over a spades game. And we are trying to bring peace to the Middle East?

It must be difficult being a Muslim in American. To live in a country that distrusts you must be hard on your soul. Especially if you were born here….hold up…wait a minute!! For a minute I thought I was talking about Black Folks..but I digress….. My mother taught me to have respect for others. A lot of people do things that I don’t like but I don’t burn their property. My father taught me to judge a man by his character. I can’t blame all Muslims for what some rouge Muslims did on September 11th. In every religion you have crack pots. Christianity was used to co-sign on
military campaigns in Europe and slavery in America. No one person has the moral authority when it comes to who has the better religion. I guess we’ll all have to wait until the Rapture to see what God really says. And that date, should be sometime in the year of 2012. Or at least that’s what was on a sign some dude was carrying yesterday.

A Doctor and a Husband's Racist Friends can’t define me.

Dr. Laura Schlessinger ended last week whimpering after getting chastised for saying the “N” Word multiple times (i.e. 11 times) on her radio show. Nita Hanson, a black woman, called Dr. Laura to get help with her 3 year marriage. Her husband, a white man, has friends that make disparaging remarks about black folks. And Mrs. Hanson wanted to know how to handle the situation (this segment should have been called (Oh my!! I think I married a Racist????)

For a full transcript of the incident go here.

After taking it all in and thinking about it, I have a different take on this. I’m not mad at Dr. Laura. I can’t be mad at people for being honest. Apparently she loves using the “N” Word and has been waiting a long time to say it. With phrases such as -

“I don't get it. If anybody without enough melanin says it, it's a horrible thing; but when black people say it, it's affectionate. It's very confusing.”

“We've got a black man as president, and we have more complaining about racism than ever. I mean, I think that's hilarious.”

“Don't double N -- NAACP me.”

you can tell Dr. Laura is using the old “Post Racial” kick as a cover for her hatred. I like when people are honest so I know the “REAL” person that I’m dealing with. Not the fake person that they want me to believe them to be. Just like I’m glad Sarah Palin showed up this week to tell Dr. Laura to “Don't Retreat ... Reload!” Now I know how Sarah Palin gets down too. If she wanted to shore up her “African American” support for any future presidential election, that ship sailed away with two middle fingers in the air.

My problem with Dr. Laura is that she keeps saying her 1st Amendment Rights were taken away. She used her “rights” to say the “N” Word eleven times. And if a sponsor decides to drop her, (which some did) than that is their “right.” There are consequences and repercussions to what we say and do. Listeners and companies don’t have to subsidize racist behaviour. That’s the bad part about speaking out. Some people might not like what you have to say.

My real problem is with Nita Hanson. How did she marry a man that has such a lack of respect for her? How does a man let his friends and relatives bad mouth his wife’s race in front of her? And why is she still with him? Is she in love or just happy to have a white man on her arm? My sister in law is married to a white man. Probably one of the nicest guys I have ever met. But I wouldn’t have any respect for him if my sister in law was running around like Mrs, Hanson. Respect for your spouse goes beyond race and ethnicity. If he lets other people disrespect her, I can only imagine how she gets treated behind closed doors.

One last thing about this “N” Word business!!! The word is tired and dated. To all the racists out there – please stop thinking the word is going to upset me. You no longer can use the word as a control mechanism to make me think I’m less than you. Although you may not see me as an equal, I know my history. And to black folks that keep using the word as if you have a love affair with it. You are the reason that we are in this predicament. You have inadvertently given people permission to use the word. Don’t ask me how or when!! But now everybody wants to say the word and they can’t wait to say it. Everyday politicians, right-wing radio pundits come close to saying it but they never quite get there (unlike Movie Stars). It’s a slick way to use it (for its true intended purposes) and claim ignorance all at the same time (i.e. “I thought it was cool because it was in a song?? Really???) They need to go fool someone else with this. I’m just not buying it!!!

It took them awhile to get Alphonse "Al" Capone too…

“This jury shows you that the government threw everything but the kitchen sink at me, they could not prove I did anything wrong — except for one nebulous charge from five years ago."

~ Rod Blagojevich, speaking outside the courtroom after the verdict.

Former Governor Rod Blagojevich has beaten the rap. A jury found Blagojevich guilty on only 1 of the 24 counts he was charged with. Say What!?!!? In case you didn’t know, the Former Governor of Illinois was on trial for wire fraud, racketeering, extortion and bribery (not necessarily all in the same order). Don’t you remember hearing him on tape talking greasy ( i.e. trying to sell/trade President Barack Obama’s former U.S. Senate)? But none of that matters in America. As the album title of the great African American poet Jay Z states “Reasonable Doubt.” Is Blagojevich a slick character that can’t be snagged? Nope! But as the old saying goes - every once in awhile, the sun shines on a dogs @ss. He does have instant street cred now (i.e. fake gangsta rapper credit that's only good in the projects). I don’t know what the jury was smoking but they made their decision. Blagojevich’s lawyer made me think that I could have gone to law school. Sam Adam Jr. doesn’t sound like a lawyer. He sounds like a wimpy non-alcoholic light drink. Now that the judge declared a mistrial on the 23 counts, the prosecution will attempt to retry Blagojevich. That sounds like more waste of tax payer money to me. I do wish that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid would have been called to testify. Maybe a trial would have kept him busy so he wouldn’t have time to comment on New York State issues. Now that Blagojevich is done with that pesky trial he can work on his other career. Blagojevich the television star!!!

Hey Obama Administration!!! Nobody Likes a Whiner!!!

Every time White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs talks, he makes me miss C.J. Cregg (i.e. a television character that was a White House Press Secretary). When a fake Press Secretary does a better job than the real one, it only means one thing – someone needs to be fired!!! I’ve never liked Gibbs in his current position. He talks to people in a flippant manner and occasionally puts his foot in his mouth. I also haven’t forgotten how he disrespected April Ryan. I know he got the job because he was rolling with President Obama from the giddy up. But when a person isn’t qualified for a job, it really shows. No matter how hard you try you just can’t cover up incompetence. If you don’t believe me, do you remember Michael Brown? Gibbs again showed his ignorance last week but he also showed something else. As suspected, the Democratic Party has an “I’ll call you when I need you” stance when it comes to their constituency. It is even worse when it comes to their most loyal base – African Americans. Last week Gibbs complained about the “professional left” and their complaints regarding Obama. He also said that “these people ought to be drug tested.”

So what is the professional left you might ask? Well the mainstream media says that it’s the liberal media that he was complaining about (i.e. Keith Olbermann and friends). But I think some other people could have been lumped in that category as well. The Congressional Black Caucus (actually any black person that takes issue with Obama), Gay Rights Activists, people for a sensible immigration policy, and Anti War Far Left types could fit in this “professional left” group. These groups voted for Obama in large numbers because he promised change. He also promised each of them a lil sumpin sumpin (as they say in the streets). Well everyone except black folks, he didn’t promise us anything. But again, no one asked him for anything either…but I digress…

It’s not uncommon for religious organizations, special interest groups, and minorities (that includes you too Latino’s and White Women) to tell the president what they want to see during their administration. Sometimes they get it and sometimes they don’t. I wish the president could only hold office for six years. That way we don’t have to worry about them running for office their second year in the job. If they had six years uninterrupted, maybe that would cut down on all the slick talk. Politicians’ spend two years telling you what you want to hear, then four years convincing you they won’t be able to fulfill their promises but you still will benefit from whatever they can do. Wait a minute!! Are we electing Presidents or Pimps? Opps…My bad…but again I digress……

The Obama Administration has no business being upset because people that voted for them are mad. It comes with the territory. President Bush (Junior) didn’t care who was mad at him. He would keep going along with Vice President Cheney’s his agenda regardless of what anyone thought. People are mad because they don’t think things are getting done. Didn’t Obama know that American’s are impatient people? We use microwaves to heat up food and drive thru’s to pick food up. We don’t like waiting on anything. Add joblessness, an endless war, greedy capitalists and you have a recipe for disaster.

Obama promised some of the following:

To ban lobbyists from working in his Administration (White House is full of lobbyists)

To televise debates on C-SPAN (most of the negotiating went on behind closed doors)

To End the War (um….er….eh….next!!)

To End Don’t Ask Don’t Tell (as if this is going to happen)

To provide a Public Option in the Health Insurance Bill (this concept went the way of the Dodo Bird)

SO AGAIN!! It should not be a surprise that his backers are upset. And these are just some of his promises. And God Forbid if you are black and have a complaint. You stand the risk of being chastised by other black folks. You also get ignored by the president himself. I don’t think it’s unreasonable for black folks to ask what is going on with the jobs (green jobs, manufacturing jobs, white collar jobs – any kind of jobs!!). Blacks make up the largest group of unemployed people (also a larger percentage of Obama voters) with black men in double digits. The Obama Administration won’t speak on race issues but will get involved with building permit issues for a New York City Mosque??? And you wonder why some black folks look at the White House with a *side eye*. I’m still waiting on Shirley Sherrod’s beer summit. I need for the Obama Administration to do us all a favor and stop complaining. People don’t want to hear you complain because you aren’t getting love. They want to see you produce. And if they aren’t happy with what you currently have done – work harder!!! The Democrats bragged about running the Senate and House of Representatives when Obama rolled into office. But they have struggled to get bills passed?? Blue Dog Democrats and Far Right Republicans are their problem, not mine!! So why do I have to keep hearing about people holding them back from carrying out their agenda? Either quit complaining or just quit!!! In other words: Don’t get into a fight if you think you are going to get bruised!!!

You’ll never get married now Savannah. Blame it on sexy “South Beach.”

Lebron James "forever" girlfriend mentioned that “Miami was not my favorite place” in a People Online article. Apparently if she was in charge they would have ended up somewhere else. From the looks of the skyline in the photo, New York would have been a popular choice. It’s nice that People let her express her views but because she is a live-in girlfriend her say in the matter doesn’t count. At any given time Lebron can replace her with someone young and new. The most she can get is child support and some furniture. Unlike a married woman who can take her husband to the cleaners. What confuses me is that she referred to Lebron as her “soul mate” but they aren’t married? I guess that is how you do when your boyfriend refers to you as a sidekick. Must be some new stuff the kids are doing now. Well she doesn’t have to worry about him proposing now. Sexy South Beach will give him less incentive to say “I do.” She should also expect him to come home late at night and stay out on the weekends. Sorry Savannah, but the parade of clear heels won!!

If Wyclef insists on carrying this “presidential thing” out, I hope he reads this first.

Because of my blog, people automatically assume that I want to get into politics. I always shake my head at that assumption. It would take a gun to the head in order for me to get into politics. I don’t want to spend my days telling people what they want to hear. Sometimes what we need to hear is what we need the most. Politicians of late have been doing such a terrible job that people in the streets want to take their place (yes that means you Alvin Greene). It reminds me of the current downfall of the mainstream media and the rise of blogs but I digress……

Nothing speaks more about citizens running for office than the Wyclef for president campaign. Haiti has had such failing leadership that a rapper wants to lead the country. Next thing you know Hurricane Chris will run for Louisiana State Senator. I personally don’t have anything against “Clef” but I think that Haiti needs more than what he can give them. “The Carnival” was an excellent album but running a country isn’t like laying down a track.

I usually don’t give out advice for free but if Wyclef is going to be a politician, he needs to do the following:

A. Ditch Family and Friends that will taint your name.
Exhibit A – Congresswoman Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick

Kilpatrick was done in when she still supported her loser son through his legal woes. She knew her son wasn’t worth a darn but she kept rolling with him.

She went from this:

To this:

I know “Black folks” like to keep things real but there is being real and being unemployed. If you run for office you have to appear honest and crooked family members will not help that image. That also means you can’t buy bootleg movies at the Barbershop!!!

B. Keep your finances in order.
Exhibit B – Congressmen Charles Rangel and William Jennings Jefferson

Rangel has been accused of not filing personal financial disclosure forms on more than $600,000 in income and assets. His excuse: they were unintentional errors.

Jefferson hid $90,000 in his freezer. Generally there is nothing illegal about hiding money in your freezer unless it was taken in a bride (that would be you Mr. Jefferson). If you look in the dictionary under cold hard cash, you will actually see a picture of Jefferson.

Wyclef is going to have to be accountable for all monies being spent. And word of his misuse of charity money and tax problems don’t help any.

C. Yes! Yes! Yes! You need to micromanage.
Exhibit C – President Barack Obama

I truly hate micromanagers. I especially hate them standing over my desk while I’m working. BUT! Presidents need to be hands on. Obama does too much delegating for my taste. Instead of getting “outside of the box thinking” cabinet members he brought in Project Managers. Because of this he always appears to be hands off important issues. Wyclef can’t appear to look hands off because he already lacks experience. People on the outside looking in will think he is not running the country. This will cause him to lose respect in the eyes of his countrymen and women. Whether building bridges or giving children tetanus shots. Wyclef needs to be involved and personally leading the charge. If you are trying to pass an important piece of legislation don’t stay quiet!?! You need to make the message and sell the message.

I know Wyclef probably won’t read this but I thought I should give it a try. Now that The Fugees album looks like a dream deferred. We can wait for T.I. to announce his bid for mayor of Atlanta. Why?! Everyone else is doing it…

Did you know about the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation?

While at last month’s Blogging While Brown Conference, I met Muriel Hairston-Cooper from the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. Mrs. Hairston-Cooper is the Senior Media Manager for the organization. Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit, nonpartisan public policy, research and educational institute. They complete their mission by building a bridge between legislators, business leaders, minority-focused organizational leaders, and organized labor to bring change to African American communities. They also provide scholarships and internships to African American students. The organization is supported by fundraising events and corporate underwriting. What I distinctly remember about our conversation, was how insistent she was in explaining that they are separate from the Congressional Black Caucus.

And because of a New York Times article from earlier this year, it’s not a surprise that she feels the need to make the distinction. The article talked about how the “Congressional Black Caucus” was a money making powerhouse. The article alluded to the organization raising tons of money and not using it for its intended purposes. If you never knew anything about this organization, you would have thought they were gaming the system based on what you read. The writer of the article lumped all the CBC’s (i.e. Congressional Black Caucus Institute, Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, and Congressional Black Caucus) together and in doing so made them one entity. I asked Mrs. Hairston-Cooper if they ever tried to get the situation cleared up. She said they sent a letter to the New York Times telling them to look at their IRS Tax Form 990 (form for tax-exempt organizations). She said they told them that their story was accurate and they were sticking to it. I didn’t laugh on the phone when she told me this because I didn’t want to offend her. But the mainstream media isn’t into accuracy (a la Shirley Sherrod). I’m pretty sure the NY Times has better resources to obtaining organizational records. So if they wanted to they could do their due diligence.....if they wanted to.

Side Note: I googled the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and 990 Tax Form. See here.

I asked Mrs. Hairston-Cooper if this incident has taught her organization anything. She told me that it made them more aggressive in telling their story. The organization spent roughly $700.000 for last year’s Annual Legislative Conference. The money was used for catering costs such as their prayer breakfast and luncheons. The money they raised went to their internship program and fellowships. These programs involve room, board and stipends.

Side Note: You can see their interns first hand in the upcoming September issue of Ebony Magazine.

In 2008, the CBCF came to Charlotte, NC with their Black Health Empowerment Project Tour. The theme of the tour was “Eat, Move and Test for Health.” The tour educated African American’s on the chronic diseases that come from being overweight. Obesity is a big (no pun intended) problem that many American’s have. From conversations I hear often, obesity seems to be a prevalent condition with black folks. One fellow blogger talked about how it was an ongoing problem with black women (via their perception). Even First Lady Michelle Obama has taken up the fight for healthy eating. I don’t agree with every black organization that claims to have my best interests at heart (I’m talking about you NAACP!!!). But I do appreciate when organizations take the time out to explain what they stand for. That is something that I have respect for because some people won’t do that much. Please feel free to check out the CBCF website for more information.

Oh…poor Shirley Sherrod, you forgot that America isn’t ready for the truth.

The Obama Administration has just jettisoned another black employee from their ranks. Shirley Sherrod, former United States Department of Agriculture Director of Rural Development in Georgia, was given the boot after remarks at an NAACP banquet. Now the White House will tell you that she resigned but I can guarantee that she wasn’t planning on quitting her job when she went to work today. Journalist extraordinaire Andrew Breitbart provided the video tape that caused the firing. You might remember him from his handy work with taking down Acorn with a fake white pimp.

For full disclosure: I have used videos from his site on my blog.

Apparently Sherrod was videotaped talking to the NAACP about a job she held two decades ago with the Federation of Southern Cooperative/Land Assistance Fund. She talked about how a white male farmer was rude to her and because of that she didn’t do her best in helping him. Her exact quote - “I didn’t give him the full force of what I could do.” She later admitted that the incident “opened her eyes.” And that she realized that we need to move beyond race. Again from her own mouth - "The story helped me realize that race is not the issue, it's about the people who have and the people who don't."

Well before the close of business she was out of a job and pundits were giving their two cents on the subject. Unfortunately none of us had enough information to make an intelligent decision. What we received was half a video tape with half the story. We missed what Sherrod was trying to say about how her views on race have evolved. All we saw and heard was - “I didn’t give him the full force of what I could do.” Instead of her speech in complete context we received an edited version. Whatever happened to investigative journalism? Oh well, it wasn’t hard to figure out what happened next.

The mainstream media debated the story without all of the information (which they stupidly admitted to) –

The NAACP denounced her without all of the information (when she was speaking at an NAACP event) –
“Since our founding in 1909, the NAACP has been a multi-racial, multi-faith organization that– while generally rooted in African American communities– fights to end racial discrimination against all Americans. We concur with US Agriculture Secretary Vilsack in accepting the resignation of Shirley Sherrod for her remarks at a local NAACP Freedom Fund banquet. Racism is about the abuse of power. Sherrod had it in her position at USDA. According to her remarks, she mistreated a white farmer in need of assistance because of his race. We are appalled by her actions, just as we are with abuses of power against farmers of color and female farmers. Her actions were shameful. While she went on to explain in the story that she ultimately realized her mistake, as well as the common predicament of working people of all races, she gave no indication she had attempted to right the wrong she had done to this man. The reaction from many in the audience is disturbing. We will be looking into the behavior of NAACP representatives at this local event and take any appropriate action. We thank those who brought this to our national office’s attention, as there are hundreds of local fundraising dinners each year. Sherrod’s behavior is even more intolerable in light of the US Department of Agriculture’s well documented history of denying opportunities to African American, Latino, Asian American, and Native American farmers, as well as female farmers of all races. Currently, justice for many of these farmers is being held up by Congress. We would hope all who share our outrage at Sherrod’s statements would join us in pushing for these cases to be remedied. The NAACP will continue to advance the ideals of America and fight for freedom, justice and fairness for all Americans.”

NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous issued the above statement.

The United States Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack (who is less qualified than Sherrod for his current position but I digress….) accepted *wink* *wink* Sherrod’s resignation –
“Yesterday, I asked for and accepted Ms. Sherrod’s resignation for two reasons. First, for the past 18 months, we have been working to turn the page on the sordid civil rights record at USDA and this controversy could make it more difficult to move forward on correcting injustices. Second, state rural development directors make many decisions and are often called to use their discretion,” he said. “The controversy surrounding her comments would create situations where her decisions, rightly or wrongly, would be called into question making it difficult for her to bring jobs to Georgia.”

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack issued the above statement.

Sherrod’s only relief was the woman whose husband she was supposed to have discriminated against. Say What?! Yes!! Eloise Spooner, the wife of the farmer that was allegedly discriminated against, came to her defense and said that she kept them from losing their land. She also called Sherrod “a friend for life.” So a woman was fired for discriminating against a man that she ended up helping?? To make matters worse. Glenn Beck came out in support of Sherrod. When an online title for a story says WTF? Glenn Beck Defends Shirley Sherrod- It's Possible "This Woman Deserves Her Job Back" Sherrod either needs to slit her wrists or start drinking heavily.

Yesterday I blamed Sherrod for this misstep (with only half of the info provided to me by the mainstream media) and I have to apologize for that. She isn’t a career politician like most of Obama’s appointments. You know, people that tell you what they think you want to hear because they are trying to get your vote. She was trying to be truthful and honest and tell her story. Too bad that she didn’t realize that Conservative forces were pissed off at the NAACP and were looking for payback. So for telling the truth she got canned. And to add insult to injury the NAACP retracted their previous statement denouncing Sherrod. Ben Jealous new statement says the NAACP was “snookered by Fox News and Tea Party Activist Andrew Breitbart into believing she had harmed white farmers because of racial bias.” The NAACP reminds me of the “Yugo.” When they send literature to my house I just throw it in the trash. Sherrod was speaking at an NAACP banquet. How did Fox News trick them when they were in the audience? Everybody at the banquet and headquarters needs to fall off a cliff!! What about the journalists that went on national television debating a doctored tape as if it were the gospel? Whatever happened to fact checking? Rushing to be the first person to deliver the story is reckless and irresponsible. If Roland Martin spent more time investigating the facts instead of sending out tweets about the celebrity parties he is attending, maybe we could have the real story. And add the fact that the Obama Administration runs from racial issues like Usain Bolt at the Olympics. So this woman never stood a chance. And how did Senator Robert Byrd get to keep his job when he admitted to being in the Klu Klux Klan. Does forgiveness and redemption only extend to career politicians? U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, who is being called to resign for something the Bush Administration did, was right about one thing. This country is a “nation of cowards” when it comes to discussing race.

How the Mainstream Media sponsored Eliot Spitzer’s comeback.

The Mainstream Media (MSM) loves an underdog. They love people that have fought through adversity. They believe it gives American’s that “If they can do it so can I” type feeling. Whether you are fighting dogs, breaking into another political party’s office or cheating on your spouse you can be forgiven. Although there are certain things you will never be forgiven for (senseless killings and anything involving the harming of children). So it’s not a surprise to see disgraced former New York State Governor Eliot Spitzer getting a television show. MSNBC gave him his first start on the comeback trail by re-introducing him to the public. I guess he fancied himself as some sort of political expert and that was enough for him to put his two cents in. I could tell “Morning Joe” co-host Mika “maven of morality” Brzezinski was tight faced when Spitzer started talking. I guess some women are still upset over his whole having sexual relations with a call girl thing. Some guys play golf and others bowl. I guess he needed a hobby because being Governor must be stressful. Well people didn’t complain loud enough when he came on MSNBC so they kept bringing him back. I didn’t see or hear about people standing outside of the network protesting. I guess they only save the picket signs for animal abusers and abortion clinics. I knew it was only a matter of time before Spitzer would be back on the scene. I just didn’t know how. But as we now know, we didn’t have to wait long for the answer.

Side Note: I personally could care less about him cheating on his wife. If she decided to stay with him, that’s on her. It’s none of my business how he conducts his marriage. They might have a lot of vested years that they didn’t want to lose.

Ratings challenged CNN has decided to revive Spitzer’s career by giving him co-hosting duties with a conservative columnist on a TBA (to be announced) program. The program will be taking over the former Campbell Brown 8pm time slot. You remember the snooze fest that Campbell Brown hosted don’t you? Yeah, me neither! I think she was trying to follow Katie Couric’s footsteps but ended up not being able to hold her jock strap but I digress….. Some folks actually thought that Roland Martin was going to get a show at the 8pm time slot….ha ha ha. Only a seasoned comedian or a coked up crack head could tell a funnier joke. In case you haven’t noticed CNN doesn’t have big plans for Roland Martin (hence the title “CNN Contributor” that the network gave him). And it’s not that Martin isn’t hustling because he had a radio show, has books, a blog and another show on TVOne. It’s just that by the MSM standards he is not that popular/cool/well know/ or whatever reason they come up with. Mark Halperin has one bestseller book and MSNBC named him “Senior Political Analyst.” Now granted Halperin has been around since the late 90’s but the hustle is not as prevalent as Martins. The National Association of Black Journalists has complained about the whiteness in television news programs with this recent hire. Or as the MSM hears when the NABJ talks to them…blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. Even white women are complaining about white men getting too much play.
Too bad Rachel Sklar used “The Daily Beast” to make her complaint. Not even the founder of the on-line website can tell you how many blacks work there. TV isn’t the only place where minorities are losing out.

It's actually quite hilarious if you think about it. The same media that tore Spitzer down is now building him back up. I guess the MSM has decided that they will be the sole controllers of famous peoples’ careers. If they like you, then they will smother you with heaps and praises (i.e. John McCain before he ran for President in 2008). If they don’t like you, then you are going to have a rough time (i.e. Rev Jeremiah Wright talking about America on American soil). Spitzer should be somewhere working on making his marriage stronger and “hooker proof”. Instead he is taking promo shots for his soon to be t.v. show. Sure Spitzer is taking this opportunity away from a seasoned journalist (no matter the color). On the other hand he does have the charisma to pull it off. The man never met a camera he didn’t like. I guess it’s another situation where diversity proponents, white women (that don’t have access) and all the black weekend anchors on CNN will sit around pissed off. Is any of it fair? Probably not! We don’t live in a fair society. We live in a society where there are gatekeepers and people trying to get through the gates. It’s just another day where the people that call the shots are taking the shots too.
