That coupled with everyone being an expert on the "crabs in a barrel" theory.

Ultimately, this is a political issue; an issue of politcal activism, organization, and action; something history has shown we know all too well.

In short we are probably the most reactionary ethnic minority group rather than being pro-active. At the same time we must also hold our politicians to account on the way they vote because ultimately their votes affect us. This should be done more so on the local level than national.

You're right, the blueprint has always been there. And we must realize that we cannot do it alone. We need to form alliances, and be prophetic in doing so. If we did, we would never be the source of blame for political failures such as the recent prop 8 chatter of last year.RiPPahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08876723972974044402noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7914710637340292931.post-64819155783672180642009-05-27T23:35:10.389-04:002009-05-27T23:35:10.389-04:00But our groups always seem to be more concerned ab...But our groups always seem to be more concerned about 'getting theirs' (2004 Olympics B-Ball Team) instead of focusing on the ultimate goal (2008 OBBT).
In the first example - we had a lot of All Stars - just no team.
In the '08 games, the focus switched to team (and ultimately a Gold medal).uglyblackjohnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14404995571276457138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7914710637340292931.post-72432224774872947342009-05-27T21:35:02.470-04:002009-05-27T21:35:02.470-04:00Tasha - Always glad to see you.
